Impact of Modelling Surface Roughness in an Arterial Stenosis

چکیده
Arterial stenosis is a problem of immediate significance, as cardiovascular disease the number one leading cause death worldwide. Generally, study stenotic flow assumes smooth, curved and artery. However, real situation unlikely to present an infinitely smooth-surfaced arterial stenosis. Here, impact surface roughness on in was studied via computational fluid dynamics analysis. A patient-specific geometry with smooth reconstructed, partially rough model built by artificially adding random only region model. It found that oscillatory downstream models. slightly lower velocity near wall more flows were observed due presence region. pressure distributions did not vary significantly between The differences shear metrics slight became larger

Effect of Surface Roughness on Vortex Length and Efficiency of Gas-oil Cyclones through CFD Modelling
Separation of suspended droplets in a fluid flow has been a great concern for scientists and technologists. In the current study, the effect of the surface roughness on flow field and the performance of a gas-oil cyclone is studied numerically. The droplets and the turbulent airflow inside the cyclone are considered to be the discrete and continuous phases respectively. The Reynolds stress mode...

Modelling of the Dynamics of an immersed body in a microchannel with stenosis using the immersed boundary method
In the present study, the combination of lattice Boltzmann and immersed boundary methods is used to simulate the motion and deformation of a flexible body. Deformation of the body is studied in microchannel with stenosis and the effect of the flexibility changes on its deformation is investigated. The obtained results in the present manuscript show that by increasing the elasticity modulus, the...
متن کاملImpact of surface roughness on diffusion of confined fluids.
Using event-driven molecular dynamics simulations, we quantify how the self diffusivity of confined hard-sphere fluids depends on the nature of the confining boundaries. We explore systems with featureless confining boundaries that treat particle-boundary collisions in different ways and also various types of physically (i.e., geometrically) rough boundaries. We show that, for moderately dense ...
متن کاملExperimental validation of the modelling of surface roughness effects by an effective impedance
Natural grounds can exhibit small geometry irregularities, compared to the wavelength, which are called surface roughness. Using effective impedance is a useful way to model the effects of surface roughness on outdoor sound propagation, particularly in numerical methods as it avoids the meshing of small irregularities. In this paper, firstly an effective impedance model taking into account the ...
